Carnival of Gnats
[Poem]
“Move therefore, and appear!
Open the mysteries of your creation!”

‘‘When I look in the mirror all I see is what’s not there; clawing back.
When I scream all I hear’s silence from the words I don’t say.
In pain find, and mine: diamond bones fractured; no comeback
one might shoot and not a falling star—
Canlight the sky.
Pour it, now it’s churning porridge, yes;
thicken heaven galaxies clotted in hell, it’s all grit.
Rich and horrid when bursting the sunyolk humorous thin filmskin
setting bright on their forehead at the other end of life’s sight projected.
Mirror the warm reflection shadow shrouded white in forget the baby cradle coconut cracked open spilled head smile. Streaming red-rain out the ears backwardsfrontrunning sideways with both feet snatched two smoke pits humming. Tender little knuckles floated in the brothy puzzle oily piece rancid maze meat soup hurled like knives to your face so don’t scream or cry or laugh and go walk off the cliff it’s your carnival anyway so celebrate like they cheered for you or don’t and the reason is that never happened.
Rotten putrid mangoes bleeding succor in their giving of flesh to gnats.
Candyfloss roulette inside the carrousel having corded tight all flaws
that light scares off when unbinding all shadows and their bottomless roaring pit.
Inured to suffering.
Clawing back when I look in the mirror the cold reflection
shadow gone black uncovered starts
streaming blue out the baby’s eyes inside
the cradle, their tender little knuckles furled
to the touch of falling skies.
Sugar spun rot carnival where they go
backwards front running sideways on their hands.,,
